Recipe: Marshmallow Choc Pops

On Wednesday is was Master T's 5th birthday. He didn't have Kindy that day so i made these marshmallow choc pops to take on Tuesday to share with his class instead of cupcakes. The teachers were delighted as cupcakes can be quite messy in the classroom. Apparently the kids loved them too!

These are so simple to make - great for a treat, party food, lunchbox surprise or a classroom celebration.

2 packets of marshmallows (i made 22 and used 1.5 packs)
1 cup of chocolate melts

1) Heat water in a saucepan on the stove, whilst waiting for the water to boil start threading 3 marshmallows onto each lollipop stick.
2) The water is likely boiled by now so place chocolate melts into a metal bowl and place on top of the saucepan. Continue stirring the melts until smooth
3) Set your marshmallows on sticks, melted chocolate and sprinkles in a row. This allows you to work fairly quickly.
4) Dunk the side of marshmallows into the melted chocolate then straight into the sprinkles.
5) Place pops onto a plate as you go. Mine all went hard without going into the fridge so i placed them into a container ready to take to school. If you like you can pop them in fridge just to set the chocolate.

Whilst they may not be super pretty the kids find them exciting - marshmallows, chocolate and sprinkles... how could they resist!

Can you tell me what sticks you used please? I'm always worried about making these sorts of things for my littlies with sharp skewers but your sticks look much safer!! Thanks :)

I order plastic lollipop sticks from eBay. Only few dollars for 100 sticks :)

My girl has dancing on her birthday so i plan make these for her little dance class. I'm thinking white chocolate with star shape or confetti sprinkles

Oh wow these are absolutely brilliant!
I can understand why the teachers loved them, and a good change from a boring old cupcake for the kids! I'll definitely be keeping these in mind for the 2 kidlet birthdays we have coming up next month, a great gluten free option too!
For the record I think they're really pretty and so cute!
Thanks for linking up with Fabulous Foodie Fridays xx
