Colour Pop: Blue, Yellow, Monochrome Boys Room

You may remember this Purple, Aqua & Pink girls room board I created using only items from Adairs. It's now time for a boy's room. I know monochrome it's highly popular for boys bedrooms but I still love to add colour. You can change a few items to make this suitable for an teen boy too.

Reno Rumble Final

The winners are.............AYDEN AND JESS
I always had a feeling Jess & Ayden would win, not sure why but it was always in the back of my mind. Perhaps cause we had just seen them on The Block so a lot of focus was on them during the promo. Congratulations on your big win!

Carly & Leighton did so well considering they did not have the same sort of experience that The Block provides (higher end finishings and decor). Good work!

I'm looking forward to the next season of The Block. I really hope we see some different styles and taste. Please give us a couple who take risks and step aside the white/wood square.

Slow Cooker Choc Coconut Cake

I only recently discovered you can bake cakes in your slow cooker. Did you know this?!

I have done a few different cakes and they turn out so moist and are especially nice when warm. I was using my 3.5L slow cooker but the cakes turn out quite flat and oval shape. I got myself a 1.5L mini slow cooker from Woolworths so now my cakes are small and tall. I made up this creation yesterday so i thought i would share the recipe with you. I was thinking of icing it but with the kids it's less messy without icing and also easier to wrap in glad wrap for my sons lunchbox. The taste reminds me of coconut rough

Colour Pop: Classic White Ensuite

Today's colour pop  and post was created by Nicole from The Builder's Wife. What a gorgeous classic ensuite plan. Very elegant!
Nicole: I am a big fan of classic styling. Clean lines, with strong colours, and plenty of clean white. Renovating our ensuite is next on the list for our renovation, this colour pop reflects nearly exactly what I’d like our ensuite to look like. While choosing modern fixtures, the classic style of each piece, shows the strong influence of the age of the house.

Follow Nicole on her blog, facebook page and instagram to see her ensuite renovation come to life!

How To Make Your Guests Feel Welcome

On Friday our first house guest arrived. My mother-in-law has come to visit for 10 days. She hasnt seen the kids for about 3 years as she lives interstate. I decided for when she arrived I would have some little things set up. I had towels, body wash and ear plugs. Very important earplugs required due to the time of morning our kids like to wake up. Also some chocolate and wine to enjoy.... she will probably need them by the end of her holiday.
I saw this little idea on pinterest about framing the wifi password. This is perfect if you have technology savvy guests staying with you. There are so many free printables on pinterest for you to choose from. Here are a few options (click to be taken to the link)

What little touches do you do to make your guests feel welcome???
