Recently Julian took everything to the tip, leveled the sand and aggregate pavers were laid. He then did stepping stones surrounded by rainbow stone. Julian did the garden beds months ago however we only just mulched and finished the area. In this time our dragon tree branched. The branches are so very new and small but it will grow out really nicely. Its the feature tree outside my study.
Whilst we still have quite a way to go I thought I share our progress as it's starting to look really good. This is how it all started... when we first moved in before even liquid limestone and shed etc was in place.
Here is a before (it was after Julian went to the tip with the the rubbish mountain) and after.
We plan to do a roof over the paved area, a privacy screen on planter box to the left, add furniture (prob some sort of big round bed/sofa) plus decorate pot plants and other items.
You can see our sliding doors from our master room on the right. It looks smaller in photos but it's a great size.. approx 15m2.
Decorative privacy screen will go on the limestone wall between garden and the empty one. The empty one will be filled with plants as part of our area. Missing limestone to complete the retic.
You can still see some stuff that need to go to the top next to the shed. There will then be a gate there where the stepping stones start.
We had some more progress in the back garden a few weeks ago with our pergola going up. Underneath this area will be deck with a dry rocky creek bed around the edges with decked walkways. There will be lots of greenery with plants along the fence and up in the planter box. This area will have outdoor lounges, and ceiling fan. There is also going to be a large water feature up on planter box where the agave currently is. This is out last final area of sand! Look forward to it being gone!
This is quite a large area, it's going to be so nice to sit out there.

What an amazing area Leanne. I'm sure you'll get lots of enjoyment from your retreat once it is completed.

Looks great (as always!). Can I ask what the pergola is made from?
It's solar span (aka cool dek)
