Recipe: No-Bake Strawberry Cheesecake

The other weekend we had family over for a roast lunch. Generally in my house Julian will cook the main meal and ill make the dessert. Cheesecake is one of my favourite desserts and i know my family love it too. So here is my delicious no-bake strawberry cheesecake!

NO-BAKE STRAWBERRY CHEESECAKE

INGREDIENTS:
1 packet Granita Biscuits
90g Butter (melted)
500g Cream Cheese
70g Sugar
70g Thickened Cream
1 packet Strawberry Jelly
1 TBS Boiling Water
1 Punnet Strawberries

METHOD:
1) Place biscuits in food processor and blend til crushed. In a bowl mixed the biscuit crumbs and melted butter. Tip into a lined spring form tin and press down with your hand. Place in fridge to harden
2) Chop cream cheese into cubes and place into kitchenaid (or processor), add sugar and cream. Beat until smooth
3) Add the packet of jelly crystals and boiling water to the cream cheese mix. Beat until combined
4) Take the tin with the base from the fridge and add the cream cheese mixture. Spread until even
5) Slice strawberries and arrange on the top. You can decorate however you like.
6) Place back in the fridge for a few hours (mine was overnight). Slice and enjoy!

TIPS: Try other flavours by using different jelly flavours. Raspberry with shaved white chocolate on top or mango with fresh mango slices on top would be delicious!

Fun Edible Gifts For Kids

These are a simple, fun gift idea for the kids. Perfect for your kids classmates, stocking filler or student gifts. Reindeer noses have a brown nose for each of the reindeers and a red one for rudolph. The snowman poop is a little more cheeky, kids will love it!

WHAT YOU NEED:
Packet of Jaffas
Packet of Marshmallows (white ones if you can find them)
Packet of Malteasers
Snack Size Zip Lock Bags
Lime & Mortar Printables
Paper & Stapler

INSTRUCTIONS:
1) Print the labels onto thick paper. Standard paper is fine also but crinkles easily
2) Fill bags with 8 malteasters + 1 jaffa OR 5 marshmallows
3) Fold the labels so image is clearly shown on the front
4) Fold top of bag (as shown below). Place label over the top and staple both edges.
5) Repeat to all bags

TIPS: I got 9 bags of Reindeer Noses from 1 pack of malteasers (plenty jaffas left over). I got 5 bags snowman poop from a marshmallow pack so it would really be best to find bags of white marshmallows. You could add in some mini marshmallows too.

My Study - Touch of Gold

Since starting Lime & Mortar 4 months ago i spend a lot more time in my study. I decided it needed a bit more personality and needed to be more 'me'. I made a few changes and absolutely love my space. It's colourful, organised, functional and pretty.

The biggest change would be the painted wall above the desk with the golden touch of triangle decals.

I've been having a play with shelf styling. It's one thing i find a little difficult as not everything in the study is decorative. It can look bit chaotic in photos but in person each space looks quite simple.

I covered the frame on the magnet board in gold glitter washi tape and attached to side of wine fridge section, this way it's not covering up the gold triangles.

I painted this wall above the desk in Dulux 'Timeless Grey' to match the nib wall next to the wine fridge. Gold triangle decals are from Classy Clutter Designs

I got a wall wire basket from Lime Tree Kids to keep Julian's mail in here for when he gets home or other paperwork i need quick access to.

This gorgeous light is from the Young House Love range in the US. It's black with gold detail

All details together - i really love my wooden blocks i won from Lilly Pilly Arts. They are the natural wooden 4.5cm blocks.

This is where i spend my time blogging. Yay for the new lamp.. the old was simply cause we already owned it. Before & After...

The small changes have made a big difference!
Next i need to sort inside those drawers... the kids have been raiding them and they are getting a little scary. Also still havent sorted out the cords under the desk (i cant see them when sitting at desk so i keep moving it down the to do list)

Kids Parties: Giggle & Hoot

Last week i shared a Disney Planes themed birthday party by my lovely friend Bec. Well today im sharing her son's Giggle & Hoot birthday party from last year. Choosing colours that relate to theme help carry it throughout all decorations.

Here is a different take on the streamer backdrops you've seen in my previous parties. Instead of twisting the streamers secure them down bottom so they are straight. This pattern is striking because it doubles the orange but single blue.

How great is Hoot and Hootable. Using a paper lantern and cardboard to decorate! Very clever

Party Food

The cake plus cute coloured cupcakes to match

More decorations

Party favours - all kids got a bag full of goodies

If you cant find a pinata to match your theme you can buy one of the more simple ones and decorate yourself. This style you pull streamers from bottom to release the lollies but its much more fun to let the kids try whack the lollies out themselves.

Next weekend ill be sharing the most gorgeous pink party you would have seen!
